I'm a bit late posting these photos, but I'm back in the South of France for spring! That means more wandering, exploring, eating, drinking and daydreaming. Here are some photos from the lovely and quaint village of Saint Paul de Vence, taken in March. The walled Médiéval village is perched on a hilltop and offers stunning panoramic views. One can see the Mediterranean sea on a clear day (as shown in the first photo).

Strolling in Montmartre
Where: Montmartre, Paris
(18th arr.)
When: November 2013
During our recent short holiday in Paris, my boyfriend and I rented a small but adaquate studio flat in Montmartre (we found the flat on Airbnb ). We loved having all the great cafés, restaurants, and shops of this historic northern Paris neighborhood right at our doorstep. And of course passing by Sacré Coeur basilica in all her glory each day was an added bonus. A must-see is the famous Place du Tertre, a square where local artists set-up-shop daily to paint and sell their wares. The square is surrounded by typical Parisienne cafés with outdoor seating for enjoying a rest and a glass of wine (hot spiced wine on this particular day) and of course for some great people watching.

On top of the world!
Where: Sacré Cœur basilica , Montmartre, Paris
When: November 2013
My boyfriend Samuel and I were lucky to arrive for a short holiday in Paris on a gorgeous and crisp fall day. We considered ourselves especially lucky as that the forecast had called for the possibility of rain during our entire stay (as is often the forecast in Paris). So we were thrilled to see the blue sky and happy, non-threatening clouds and decided to take advantage and hike the spiraling and narrow 234 steps into the dome of Sacré Cœur's basilica. The view did not disappoint. We also toured the eerie crypts of the basilica, seen in photo four. We paid 8 euro each to tour the dome and crypt, we both agreed it was well worth the cost. A noteworthy point is that the admission fee goes toward the ongoing renovation of the basilica which was constructed between 1875 and 1912. You can discover more about Sacré Cœur basilica here.

Parc du Château
On our last outing together in Nice before her departure back to the US, Rebecca and I decided to hike up to the Parc du Château for some yoga in the park and this amazing view.

Painter's light
The shadows are long,
and the sunshine warms the soul,
soon the day will end.
I love the way that the late day sun casts it's glow across the valley outside our flat. Painters and photographers say that this is the best light of the day, it makes everything more beautiful.
Have a wonderful day!

40 hours in Paris
Here are some photos (in no particular order) from my recent whirlwind 40 hours in Paris with mon amie, Rebecca. To me Paris is near perfection, from the cafés and bistros to the people watching and window shopping to the overall chicness of it's entire ambiance... I just can't get enough. Lucky for me I am going back with mon copain (boyfriend) in November! I can't wait! After all don't they say Paris is the most romantic city? Let's see! Stay tuned...
